I will go to Munich next week for one month. I would like to try some brothels as it is legal in Germany. May I ask you a few questions:. Does going to a brothel gives a bad image of yourself? Or is it some kind of activity, almost like going to the cinema?
How does that work? I never been in a brothel before, so this is totally new and kinda stressfull for me I will live in Munich, so if you can answer these questions taking it into consideration it would be great although I'm asking for the whole country. Ill stick to the first question. Going to a brothel is not like going to the cinema. Most likely it is best to keep it to yourself, your brothel experience is probably one of the worst topics for an easy conversation.
It's a delicate and intimate topic. I've never been to a brothel, neither have my friends and we mostly agree that going there is kinda sleazy. Prostitution is not legal because everybody is having fun with it, but because the legalization gives the state power to control and enforce rules in the business, hygiene control, health insurance, breaking down on forced prostitution which nevertheless still exists.
In fact, it seems as if legalisation has done next to nothing against forced prostitution and trade in women. OP, you might want to read this. And you might want to be aware that the women you interact with might very well be forced to have sex with you. Mainly because it can only achieve the "enforcing rules" goal when you have the personnel to do the enforcing, and the same politicians who are capaigning to criminalize prosititution which would increase the workload of law enforcement and the justice system are unwilling to fund that personnel.
Yep, it is the prime example for a well intentioned but poorly executed law. We are of course also geographically primed for sex trafficking and the EU east expansion that happened around the time of the law passing may be a partial factor in that, but we cojld clearly have made a better law. The Netherlands are again one step ahead of us on that.
